Ode to the Heroes of the Silent Majority

Ode to the heroes of the silent It is as it were a snapshot taken at 16:42, prior to the photo shoot at 17:00. Meanwhile, another rioter is taken off, an officer comes running and another is taking off her helmet. This painting was created as an ode to the heroes of the silent majority. The guardians of public order during demonstrations and riots. It is inspired by Rembrandt's Night Watch.

Gemaakt naar aanleiding van het AvroTros programma 'Het geheim van de meester' en de daaraan verbonden schilderwedstrijd.

 

De nacht wacht

Ode aan de helden van de zwijgende meerderheid

Het is als het ware een snapshot gemaakt om 16:42, voorafgaand aan de fotoshoot om 17:00. Ondertussen wordt er nog een oproerkraaier afgevoerd, een ME-er komt aangerend en een ander doet haar helm af.  Dit schilderij is gemaakt als een ode aan de helden van de zwijgende meerderheid. De bewakers van de openbare orde tijdens demonstraties en rellen. Het is geinspireerd op Rembrandt's nachtwacht.
